Holly Lodge Mentoring with Open Eye Gallery
I was a lead mentor with a group of 14 year old photographers from a school in Liverpool. This project of mentoring young artists was made possible with the help of the Open Eye Gallery. Two pieces of my work were exhibited in their gallery on Wood Street so the pupils could learn to critique, ask their own questions, look through archived photographs and gain some experience with working alongside an artist. I mentored two of the pupils on a one to one basis, wrote briefs and plans for them to follow as well as complete photography trips around Liverpool. A detailed timescale was drafted for the various workshops.
Wirral Youth Club Project
This was the most challenging and rewarding of any project I have done, mostly due to the nature of the children involved having a range of disabilities. These ranged from autism and partial sighted youngsters to selective muteness. I feel privileged to have worked with such a fascinating group of children.
