So, I have finally finished the watercolour portrait for a family member.
I have also finished an African piece that is my first attempt at oil painting. The subject is a portrait of a child from the Maasi tribe. I love all their bright colours and patterns they wear.
I have recently been asked to donate a piece of work to a charity auction. It is going towards helping young people get back into work. The auction was a huge success and overall raised an impressive £5000! Here is the piece I entered, an original painting done a few years ago:
I have been asked to do a portrait of a family member and said I would ‘try my best’ but so far have suprised myself. I took my time on this one and it’s going better than expected. You may have noticed from previous posts that I have a slight aquarium/tropical fishkeeping addiction. I am forever trying to upgrade my stock, tank etc. and managed to grab a bargain light unit to fit my 5 foot aquarium 🙂 I also have some new additions as well as on the verge of making my own glass sliding lid. My old canopy was made from wood and the lighting was quite poor. (My poor little plants) but now they will have plenty of light! Here are some update photos:
